Favorite Christian Albums of the Year (2022-2023)

I don’t normally post blogs like this, but I felt like sharing some of the great music I’ve been blessed to hear this year. This list isn’t presented in any particular order. If you love worship but want a break from mainstream CCM, here are some newer albums I’d recommend.

“Ordinary Ways”
By Jon Guerra (2023)

A humble offering of honest worship, “Ordinary Ways” is a moving album with high replay value. Guerra expresses different emotions through each track, from soft gratitude in “Thank You, Lord” to crying for help in “Let a Little Light In”.

“Vol. 1”
By Allie Paige 2022

One of the most brutally honest albums I’ve heard from a Christian artist. Paige chooses to be vulnerable and expresses her struggles, frustrations, trauma, and temptations throughout the album, all leading back to God’s mercy and love.

Sanctuary Songs
By The Porter’s Gate (2023)

The Porter’s Gate has consistently put out great albums with specific themes, this time they’re focusing on mental health. These songs beautifully honor the Lord while relating to those in the Church who struggle in various ways.

“Find my way Home”
By Antoine Bradford (2023)

While shorter than his previous albums, this is in my opinion Bradford’s best work yet. Each track uniquely brings the album’s theme together of the Christian’s struggle between sin and abiding in Christ. I cannot recommend this album enough.

“A Table”
By Saint Augustine’s Music (2023)

Definitely the most conventional of all the albums on this list, “A Table” is a great CCM EP. Saint Augustine’s Music brings simple but lyrically rich songs for the congregation to sing together, such as “To be Like You”.
