Favorite Albums of 2024

2024 was a great year for Christian artists! For this blog, I’m just going to list some of my favorite albums of the year in no specific order.

“Manna”
By: Chris Renzema

From beginning to end, Chris gives us catchy and thought-provoking tracks that resonate for many Christians. Wrestling with faith, expressing insecurities, and calling out corruption in institutional churches, “Manna” is a great album with high replay value.

“Three Gifts”
By: Liturgical Faith ft. Jon Guerra

Teaming up with Jon Guerra (one of my personal favorite indie artists), Liturgical Faith released a three track EP earlier this year, taking inspiration from Paul’s words in 1st Corinthians 13:13. The group devotes each song to the three virtues that will remain through all time: Faith, Hope, and Love. The songs are simple and beautiful, bringing Paul’s original message to music.

“Sunrise”
By: John Mark Pantana

Most of the songs on this album have already been released for some time, but John Mark Pantana finally finished and released the full album this year. A worthy successor to his previous album, "Love Secrets”, the album continues to shine Pantana’s unique style of music while standing out from previous work with a more polished sound.

“Matin Vol. 1, 2, & 3”
By: Jess Ray

All three of Jess Ray’s “Matin” albums are beautiful and restful pieces. Trading off between original songs and covers of classic hymns, Jess offers the listener a moment to rest in God’s beauty, self-reflect, and come away refreshed in worship.

On a closing note, Jess Ray and friends have put together a social media group to give exposure to other indie Christian artists called The Holy Ghost Record Club. They’ve put out playlists and merch that’s worth checking out!
